📈 Club Structure & Pathway

Heddon United is distinctive for its highly organized community structure:

  • Juniors to Seniors: The club operates a full range of girls’ youth teams. The Ladies’ team is specifically designed to ensure that girls don’t have to leave the club once they turn 16.
  • Recruitment: Unlike some of the more “closed” elite academies, Heddon regularly holds open summer trials and “Give it a Go” sessions to encourage women returning to football or those looking for a competitive but social environment.

🤝 Culture & Ethos

  • Inclusivity: The club’s philosophy is built on being “more than just a football club,” focusing on the mental and physical well-being of its players.
  • Community Identity: They are a classic “village club” that has successfully expanded into a regional competitor. Their matches often draw a local crowd from the Heddon and Throckley communities.
  • Professionalism at Grassroots: Despite being a grassroots side, they maintain a high standard of digital presence and player support, treating their Ladies’ section with the same parity and importance as their Men’s First Team.
