Dunston UTS Women FC (often referred to as “The Fed”) is the newest chapter in the history of one of Gateshead’s most iconic football clubs. While Dunston FC has a storied 50-year history in the men’s game, the Women’s senior team was officially launched for the 2025/26 season as a cornerstone of the club’s golden anniversary celebrations.

  • Colours: Blue and White.
  • 50th Anniversary Milestone: The women’s team and a new junior section were established in 2025 to mark 50 years since the club was founded (originally as Whickham Sports in 1975).
  • Nickname: “The Fed” – a legacy title from the club’s long-standing association with the Federation Brewery.

  • League Level: In their debut season, the team has competed in the Northumberland Women’s Football League.
  • Cup Success: They made an immediate impact in regional knockout competitions, notably reaching the Quarter Finals of the Durham County FA Women’s Cup in early 2026 after a dominant 7–1 victory over Consett AFC.
